Many of our team members are lifelong hunters, fishermen, competitive shooters, and veterans who are experts in using the products we help create. Which is why you’ll see OMP engaged with the outdoor industry at every turn – whether it’s developing leading edge products, supporting not-for-profit events, attending and sponsoring industry trade shows.
The Industry Choice Awards ICA is an independent firearm products and accessories evaluation founded by OMP to determine the best products in the market each year across a range of categories including, rifles, handgun, and the Frank Desomma Innovation of the Year.
Manufacturers submit products to be evaluated by a committee of experts from across the industry, military, and law enforcement who determine the “best-of-the best” by ranking the products through a hands-on, multi-day, testing and evaluation process.
OMP is a proud member, sponsor and attendee of a variety of U.S. Military and sport shooting events, camps, and associations. Our people are always well-represented in the communities we live in, and serve.
Mission Statement
OMP is a full service, custom injection molder, and contract manufacturer. We are dedicated to attaining total customer satisfaction. Our main business focus is to make it easy for our customers to develop and produce great products. With this core focus, OMP will compete and prosper in the global marketplace.
Timeline
- OMP was founded in 1964 initially focusing on molding of electrical and television components for companies like General Electric and General Instrument
- In 1968 moved into present Oneida location, which allowed for expansion into broader array of consumer electronics, with complex assembly and painting
- Expanded Oneida plant to 64,000 square feet
- Acquired Phoenix Molding Company and Three Rivers Tool Co (TRT)
- Developed expertise in firearms components, machining & assembly
- Acquired by Reunion Industries in mid 1990's
- Acquired Siler, NC plant
- Added more sophisticated molding and finishing technologies
- Expanded Oneida plant to 84,000 square feet
- Injection Molding business assets were acquired from Reunion Industries by Argosy Investment Partners as lead investor of private equity group
- Consolidated operations into Oneida plant, from Phoenix NY and Siler City, NC
- Built new professional management team
- Entered hydro-graphics decorating business
- Invested in advanced technology to drive growth
- Acquired Austro-Mold, Rochester, NY
